I believe in:

Change, the most constant: As an immigrant therapist, I strongly believe that change is the most constant. Over the past two decades, adapting to change has helped me to tailor my interventions flexibly to meet the differing needs of different clients.

Commitment to relationships: My life experiences of living in different parts of the world and staying in a monogamous relationship for 35 years has shaped me to believe in transforming the lives of people around me. In a system, be it couple or family, it is natural for relationships to change as partners spend more time together and develop as a team. The commitment that I give to relationships has helped me to establish a secure alliance and somewhat long-term commitment with my clients. I believe that profound learning happens in these relationships.

Cultural Neutrality: One of the most effective ways to learn about oneself is by taking seriously the cultures of others. I believe in cultural neutrality, as described by Dr. Aktar, which is akin to teaching oneself the basic principle that no culture, no religion, no race, no ethnicity, no language, no region, no ritual, no festival is inherently superior to the other.
