Custom Orthotics

Custom foot orthotics are used to prevent and treat injuries that are the result of misalignment of the lower limbs. They have the ability to functionally change the way you walk, by correcting gait, balance, and posture. They can also be used in an accommodative fashion to redistribute pressure away from painful areas of the foot.

It is important to note that not all orthotics are created equally. Custom foot orthotics are devices designed specifically for your foot. A true custom device will be unique to your foot type and needs. In order to truly capture the uniqueness of your foot, a 3D model must be taken. This is done through either a casting method or a digital non weight-bearing scan. Standing in a foam box or walking over a mat does not accurately capture the shape of the foot.

Custom foot orthotics can treat a wide range of conditions. Examples of these include...

Ankle/Foot Pain related to tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, collapsed arch, high arch, bunions, corns and callus, etc.

Hip Pain related to leg length discrepancies.

Leg/Knee Pain related to shin splints, IT band syndrome, Jumper’s Knee, Runner’s Knee.

Palliative/Accommodative function for conditions like osteoarthritis, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis.
